I’m Sarah Griffith and I’m thrilled to be joining the team at Tapestry! I’m your new Special Education Co-Teacher in Middle School Math. I recently graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in Special Education. I’m both an autism specialist and a math specialist, and hold a minor in Urban Education. I’m extremely passionate about helping those historically underserved by the system get access to the services they need.
I’ve been working with children all my life. Before pursuing my education degree, I was a nanny for over a decade and I’ve also raised 2 neurodiverse kids myself. My passion for this work began while navigating the system for my kids. I hope I can help other families find their way.
I live with my husband, 2 kids, and 5 cats. My husband and older son, who’s 23, are also educators. My youngest, who is about to turn 16, is on the spectrum and thriving. In my spare time I spend as much quality time as I can with my family or friends; I enjoy little more than a good conversation. My hobbies are singing, yoga, meditating, and I love being outdoors. I also love reading and deeply enjoy doing math puzzles. Yes, really! I’ve also attached a picture, for those who are more likely to remember a face.
