I am honored to join Tapestry Public Charter School as Assistant Principal, bringing over 12 years of experience in education as a teacher, department chair, and instructional leader. Most recently, I served as a Science Instructional Academic Coach at Tucker Middle School, where I led professional learning, coached teachers across grade levels, and helped achieve a nine-point increase in GMAS science scores. I was also recognized as a Teacher of the Year finalist in 2017–2018.
Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to receive accolades for my instructional strategies, classroom management, restorative circle support, and my ability to build and empower teacher leaders. I am certified in Middle Grades Science (4–8), Gifted Education, and hold an Educational Leadership Tier II certification.
My passion lies in helping scholars experience powerful learning opportunities in an environment that fosters meaningful relationships among students, teachers, and the wider community. A quote I hold dear is one I heard at a leadership conference: “Try and fail, but don’t fail to try.” It reflects how I lead, encouraging growth, risk-taking, and impact in service of students, faculty, and staff.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Clayton State University, a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Walden University, and an Educational Specialist degree (Ed.S.) in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.
Outside of my professional role, I am the proud mother of my 12-year-old son, Dallas, who is both a phenomenal student and an all-around basketball player. I am also a Dallas Cowboys fan and a proud member of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, shopping, CrossFit, and watching First 48.
Becoming a school leader has always been my goal, and I am truly excited to serve the students, families, and educators of Tapestry as we continue building an inclusive and thriving school community together.
