Hello, my name is Anu Ghosh and I am excited to join the team at Tapestry. I’m your new Special Education Co-Teacher in 7th Grade teaching ELA and Social Studies.
I was born in London, UK and grew up in India. I am extremely passionate about teaching and have been involved with education for the last 20 years. I started my teaching career as a Journalism/Communications instructor at Georgia State University. Eight years of doing that found me switching gears to elementary education. For the last 10 years I have been an educator at Oak Grove Elementary within the Dekalb County School District, first serving as a para-educator and later on as a special education second-grade co-teacher. I am very passionate about working with young students with disabilities and helping them gain the skills they need to become lifelong learners.
I completed my undergraduate studies in India, concentrating in History and Political Science. I then completed my Master’s Degree in Communications from The Ohio State University and am currently working toward a Masters in Teaching (AT) in Special Education, with a concentration in Reading from Brenau University.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Farzan, our two daughters, Miraya, a rising high schooler and Diya, a rising fifth grader. We also love spending time as a family with Ares, our fur baby. When I am not in the classroom, I love reading, cooking, walking the aisles of Target, and sharing a good conversation. I am a lifelong learner. I firmly believe that great educators learn and grow with their students and I am thankful for the opportunity to help young minds develop and flourish at Tapestry.
I am looking forward to joining the Tapestry family and to a wonderful year guiding your children as they achieve success on an academic, social, and emotional level.
