Hello! My name is Lydia Shriner Gil and I am very excited to be part of the Tapestry family as a Spanish 1 and 2 teacher.
I was born and raised in Mexico, but then moved to Texas where my mom worked as a professor at UNT. I graduated there from Denton High School.
At 18, I moved back to Mexico to start my bachelors in hospitality/tourism business administration, I graduated in 2007 from Universidad Del Valle de Mexico and worked in the sales area for Camino Real Hotels, a year later I found my other passion, teaching. I have been teaching now for 16 years at all levels in the USA and Mexico, some of the subjects I´ve taught are ESL, Cultural heritage, Geography and Spanish. I am more than happy to continue this teaching journey here at Tapestry; helping kids learn and gain confidence in everything they do is one of the most enriching experiences for me.
In my leisure time I love to spend time with my family and friends, specially my two teenage sons, some of my favorite things to do is traveling, dancing, reading and sleeping.
I´m looking forward to having an amazing experience here at Tapestry!
