Tapestry Inclusive Practices (TIPs) has been established because we realize all schools’ needs differ, we offer these opportunities to train your faculty and staff in the Best Practice areas at left, at a level that suits your specific needs.
Through our position as one of the first truly inclusive secondary schools in the nation, we have become innovators in educating students with diverse learning abilities. As such, we have discovered through the application of unique methods and extensive research that six Best Practices are pivotal for success.
Research has shown that students benefit greatly from working with peers who are neurologically different from themselves. With high expectations, appropriate scaffolding, and determination to motivate, our teachers encourage all students to believe in themselves and reach their potential. These practices correlate with self-efficacy in students, which results in positive behaviors, social-emotional learning, and academic achievement. Creative teaching techniques—paired with high expectations for learning—drive our innovative practices.
