Clear Bookbag Mandate
For the 2026-2027 school year, Clayton County Public Schools requires all students in every grade level to carry a clear bookbag. This is a districtwide safety measure, and it applies to every Tapestry Clayton student. The district will not provide clear bookbags; families are responsible for purchasing one before the first day of school.
Bookbags can have designs on them as long as the designs do not completely block visibility into the bag. Lunch bags and purses do not need to be clear but may be subject to safety searches. Student-athletes with equipment bags should turn those bags over to their coach or sponsor upon arriving at school.
Ready for Day One
Getting ready for the school year at Tapestry Clayton is simple. We have kept the supply list short and practical so families are not spending more than they need to.
Below you will find two categories:
- items your child will keep for their own personal use
- shared supplies that go into a classroom pool
Both matter, and we are grateful for every contribution.
If for any reason your family is not able to bring shared supplies, please just let us know. There are other ways to contribute, and we will never make a family feel like they have fallen short.
2026-2027 Supply List
General Shared Supplies
These items are shared among teachers and classrooms. No need to label them. Bring them unlabeled during Open House and leave them in the classroom marked “general supplies.”

- Expo Dry Erase Markers
- Post-it Note pads
- 1 pack of index cards
- 1 pack of multi-colored highlighters
- 2 packs of No. 2 pencils

- 1 pack of colored pencils
- 1 pack of black/blue ink pens
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 pack of erasers
- 1 pack of glue sticks
- 1 pack of paper towels
- 1 box of tissues
- 1 container of hand sanitizer
- 1 container of disinfecting wipes
Personal Use Items
Each student should bring the following items for their own use. Please label everything with your child’s name or place labeled items in a pencil pouch or binder. Personal items can be dropped off at the grade-level table at Open House or brought on the first day of school.

- 1 2-3″ 3-ring binder
- 1 pack of dividers for a 3-ring binder
- 1 pack of #2 pencils
- 1 pack of blue or black pens
- 5 basic pocket folders
- 1 pack of college-ruled paper
- Composition notebooks
- 1 70-sheet college-ruled spiral notebook
