We have spent more than ten years building a school culture where teachers feel supported, valued, and free to do their best work.
More Than a Job
Teaching at Tapestry is different. If you have spent time in traditional school settings and felt like the system was working against you and your students, you already know what we are talking about. Here, the model is built to let you actually teach.
You Will Know Your Students
Our classes are small by design, with approximately 11 students in every core class. You will know every student by name, by learning style, and by what makes them tick. That kind of relationship is what most educators came into this field for, and it is the norm here, not the exception.
"The creativity we're allowed as staff, the ability to incubate new ideas and the creative license to provide students what they need is so valuable as a professional."
Joshua Van Kirk, History, Psychology & Sociology TeacherYou Will Never Teach Alone
Every core class at Tapestry is co-taught by a general education teacher and a special education teacher. You have a partner in the room who shares your goals and your students. Co-teaching is built into how we operate, which means collaboration is not something you have to carve out time for. It is just how the day works.
The Mission Is Real
Tapestry exists to serve neurodiverse and neurotypical students together in the same classrooms, with the same high expectations and the right support for each one. If that mission resonates with you, you will find a staff and a leadership team who mean it. We did not land here by accident. Everyone on our team chose this.
You Will Have Room to Grow
We invest in our people. That means professional development, collaborative planning time, and a school culture where it is safe to try new approaches and get better at your craft. Our theme this year captures it well: the power of yet. We believe in growth for students and for the adults who serve them.
"Tapestry is unlike any school in the world. It's nice to see an environment where kids want to learn. They want to be here. Our work is even more rewarding because of our model."

"We have such a vast array of students. We know they don't all learn the same way. Tapestry is very flexible with learning opportunities. We have different ways of presenting things and let students show us what they know in ways that work best for them."
Tina Burgess, English/Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher
