Tapestry’s middle school program serves students in grades 6 through 8.

Building Skills and Confidence

Our goal is simple: help every student discover what they are capable of while building the skills and confidence they need to thrive in high school and beyond.

An Inclusive Classroom From Day One

Every core class in our middle school is co-taught by a general education teacher and a special education teacher working side by side. This means every student has access to support and challenge within the same room. We do not separate students based on ability. We build classrooms where everyone belongs.

The House Program

Every middle school student at Tapestry belongs to a House, a small learning community built around a field of interest. House options include Agriculture and Science, Engineering and Architecture, Technology, Computer Science, Theater and Language Arts, and Art. Students choose their house at the start of the year and spend the year working on project-based learning experiences that connect to that interest and benefit the broader school community.

Individualized Learning

Tapestry uses an individualized learning model in all core subjects grounded in Webb’s Depth of Knowledge and Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Teachers create Unit Maps for each learning unit that allow students to move through material at their own pace. Students who are ready to move on can do so. Students who need more time or support get it. No one is left behind and no one is held back.

WIN Time

WIN Time (What I Need) gives students targeted instruction from their core teachers, whether that means acceleration, enrichment, or filling a gap.

Curriculum and Standards

Our middle school curriculum follows the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). We offer small co-taught classes, a science and technology focus, a strong arts program, and daily social-emotional learning. Students also participate in music, art, drama, technology, and foreign language.
