Fall Festival Huge Success!
On Friday, October 14, the Tapestry Arts Department hosted a Fall Festival featuring the talents of our art, music and drama students. The cafeteria and garden were overflowing with students, parents, siblings, teachers and staff who joined in the celebration of creativity. Student artwork was displayed throughout the cafeteria, and guests enjoyed performances by our band, choir and drama students. Pictured above are some members of the Tapestry Choir with Middle School Music Teacher Cydney Jackson, and below are additional students seated at a table in the packed cafeteria. It was wonderful to gather in person as a community again after over two years!
The Student Government Association (SGA) held a Día de los Muertos event on Tuesday, November 1, to celebrate Latin culture at Tapestry. Students sampled traditional food and drinks, donned traditional flower crowns, and enjoyed live music from a mariachi band with vihuela, guitarrón and trumpet players. Pictured above are SGA members with the band and their teacher sponsors Mary Beth Powell and Xavier Glenn. Each year Tapestrystudents and staff also set up an ofrenda in the main lobby, pictured below, to honor the memories of friends and family members who have died.
